Call for papers

A. General:

Submissions relating to the conference themes will be double-blind reviewed on a rolling basis to assure you a rapid decision to facilitate your funding and scheduling needs.

B. Important Dates:

  • Deadline for Receipt of Full Papers: October 08, 2011.
  • Deadline for Registration & Submission of Full Papers for Inclusion in the Conference Proceedings: October 12, 2011.

 

C. Guidelines for Submission:

  • Electronic submissions are strongly encouraged (Word Format).
  • Not more than one paper can be presented by one individual.
  • Abstracts should be a maximum of one page, and the full paper should be a maximum of twelve double-spaced pages including references.
  • Each page of the paper must have page numbers. Fonts must also be 12-point size.
  • Submissions should include a separate title page which indicates the name(s) of the presenting author(s), university affiliation(s), e-mail address(es) and title of the paper.
  • Submissions should clearly include a reference to one of the conference themes.
  • Submissions should include five key words that describe the paper.
  • Abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in your text. Example HE (Higher Education) before being used as an abbreviation only. Please do not define or use abbreviations in the title.
  • The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.
  • Cite references in the text by name and year in parentheses.
  • Papers submitted to HEIC 2011 must not have been published, submitted, or presented at other conferences.
  • Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings.

E. Presentation Instructions :

  • Slide presentations should be included should be included with the paper. If this is not possible, they must be sent by October 19,2011 at the latest. The first slide must have the same heading as the paper.
  • 15 minutes max. are allocated for each presentation.
  • Ensure that you are available at least 30 minutes before the session commences on the days of the conference.
  • The equipment available will be PC and data projector.
  • The recommended software to be used is PowerPoint.
  • Any additional equipment and software requirements should be specified in the initial proposal.

 

F. Outstanding Paper Award :

HEIC 2011 Outstanding Paper Award was established to recognize an outstanding contribution to the field of higher education. The recognition of an outstanding contribution is based upon the written paper published in the HEIC 2011 proceedings and the content of the presentation at the conference. The award is awarded upon the recommendation of HEIC 2011 Award Committee.
