Lebanon

The Republic of Lebanon is a country in Western Asia, on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea.
It is bordered by Syria to the north and east, and Palestine to the south.

Lebanon –Known to some as the “Switzerland of the East”- has attracted in 2007 ,2008, and 2009 large numbers of tourists to the point that the capital Beirut became widely referred to as the “Paris of the East”.

Lebanon has a moderate Mediterranean climate. It houses large forests of the Cedars of Lebanon, which now serve as the country’s national emblem.

Arabic is the official national language. Most Lebanese are trilingual (Arabic- French – English).

The Lebanese currency is Lebanese Lyra (1US$ = 1500 Lebanese Lyras).

Lebanese food is one of the most exquisite food in the world. Lebanese cuisine is generous and abundant. As well as having great variety, it is one of the freshest and most delicious on the planet.

The Lebanese meal usually starts with small portions known as mezza which centers around dips and salads (including the world famous Tabouleh).

Lebanese sweets are pure artwork that are generally served separately after a meal with black coffee or tea.

So, welcome to the great Lebanese cuisine!
